Smart, Seamless Blood Pressure Monitoring

Smartwatches have become an effortless part of daily life, enabling users to read messages, track activity, and 
monitor basic health metrics. Building on this familiarity, new technologies are emerging that aim to integrate 
seamless health monitoring into everyday wearables.
Accurate Meditech has developed an FDA-cleared (2025), over-the-counter, cuffless blood pressure monitoring 
device known as the Accurate Mini Non-Invasive Blood Pressure Monitor [1]. The device provides rapid health 
insights that can be wirelessly analyzed and displayed through a Bluetooth-enabled mobile application, with the 
option to share results directly with a healthcare provider. A single reading takes approximately 25 seconds, and a full charge can last up to 500 measurements. In addition to blood pressure, the Accurate Mini can also measure blood temperature and blood oxygen levels.
The Accurate Mini works by utilizing a piezoelectric component capable of generating and receiving acoustic signals
due to its high sensitivity [2]. Piezoelectric components are widely used in many computers and electronic 
applications, so the company was able to utilize these characteristics to monitor the radial artery in the wrist.

By placing two sensors a set distance from each other along the artery, the system can determine how long each pulse
takes to travel from the first sensor to the second. The information is processed through an algorithm without the 
need for routine calibration.
Blood pressure testing has become as easy as putting on a watch. This product may benefit individuals monitoring a 
condition, tracking treatment effectiveness, and supporting ongoing monitoring and early detection of cardiovascular 
risk factors [3]. This technology represents a meaningful step toward more accessible, continuous health monitoring 
through everyday wearable devices.
